TiBS Backup Server Platforms

TiBS is an enterprise network backup solution for multiple operating and network file system environments. Only the TiBS client has been ported to Microsoft® Windows® operating systems. Please visit our TiBS Backup Servers main page to review options of open source and commercial operating systems for server components.

Excluded Windows Platforms

Currently, TiBS has support for most OS versions 2000 and above. Teradactyl has not tested TiBS for use with Windows Fundamentals For Legacy PC's (WinFLP). Windows Mobile Computing platforms including the Windows CE and Windows Mobile product lines are currently unsupported. Vista "Home Basic N" and "Business N" (both for the European markets) have not been certified as compatible with TiBS.

U.S. government agencies which require WinFLP, Mobile Computing platforms, "N" lines, or older legacy OS versions are asked to contact your Teradactyl sales or support representative. Back ports of TiBS clients may be available for additional fees but not all current functionality can be or is guaranteed to be provided.

TiBS Restore Highlights

Comprehensive file lookup database. Quickly access information on all file versions on disk and tape both on site and off site.

Single file, sub-directory, directory, and full system restores to original backup client or redirected to another system.

Single pass (not sequential overlay) restores for fast return to service.

Teradactyl's advanced synthetic backup consolidation technology aggregates your backup data to provide fast streaming restores from both disk and tape storage subsystems.

Multi-System parallel restore operations can be be performed from disk, tape or both. The level of parallelism is limited primarily by bandwidth, client ingestion speeds, and backup system hardware.

Windows security and registry information restored with files.

Cross Platform Restore - TiBS can restore data to alternate platforms. When these platforms do not support particular attributes, such as security ACL's, they are clearly reported.

TiBS Backup Support of Windows® Systems

The True incremental Backup System® has backup client support for Microsoft® operating systems on both 32 bit and 64 bit platforms after Windows 2000. Windows 7 is currently shipping!
