OpenAFS Research

Partial Cumulative Incremental synthetic backup consolidation released in the TiBS Full Version and included support for AFS and OpenAFS

 


Ongoing development and beta testing is currently underway to support backup and disaster recovery of Novell® NetWare® with the True incremental Backup System. This is a custom engineering project sponsored by a state university.

Applications for U.S. institutions who wish to test the Beta release of the True incremental Backup System Novell module are being accepted at this time. Please return to this page for updates. Teradactyl reserves all rights to accept or decline applications at its sole discression. A signed beta site license agreement is required to participate. Beta testing sites will be elgible for substantial discounts on the purchase of the Novell module when available for commercial release.

Teradactyl deploys partial cumulative synthetic backup volumes at no extra charge in the Full Version of TiBS. This revolutionary new technology will significantly enhance the amount of data supported by a single True incremental Backup System server. Please read our white paper on this innovative new form of synthetic backup consolidation.

Teradactyl engineering is currently updating encryption technology provided free with TiBS to include a Kerberos 5 option. Two-Fish encryption in variable key strengths will still be maintained and supported by Teradactyl.

New Memory management under development for support of considerably more than 50+ TB per TiBS backup server

Teradactyl engineering is currently updating TiBS for Windows Vista on both 32 and 64 bit platforms. Current Teradactyl clients are invited to contact support if they are interested in our Beta Testing program.

New restore console interface under development. Existing U.S. customers who wish to become a beta site for this module can apply in the Spring of 2008
Teradactyl invites U.S. Federal Agencies to Submit Ideas for Backup Research!
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) proposals are currently being studied for 2008 & 2009. Topics for research within our scope of expertise are currently being solicited from federal agencies for consideration and base feasibility analysis.
     
Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) topics are currently being solicited for research and development work with leading U.S. educational institutions. Federal agencies looking to solve large storage problems are encouraged to contact us with potential or current program topics. Our extensive contacts with leading Universities gives us strong partnership potential with the educational sector.
     
Ten federal agencies are required by SBIR to reserve a portion of their R&D funds for award to small business. Members of these agencies are strongly encouraged to contact us regarding projects concerning centralized network backup systems and information systems disaster recovery.
