TiBS Small Business
Edition was created to meet the needs of smaller, growing sites,
by providing a base set of reliable backup functions for data sizes
between 500 GB and 2 Terabytes. As a site continues to grow, TiBS
provides Lite and Full
Version upgrades. The backup functions available in TiBS Small Business
Edition include:
Network
Full Backup : A type of Full Backup that copies Primary Storage
on a target system over a network to Secondary Storage. The TiBS
Small Business Edition requires periodic Network Full Backups but
takes True incremental network backups on a daily basis between
scheduled Network Full Backups.
Network
Synthetic Cumulative incremental Backup: A specific type of
Cumulative Incremental (A Differential Backup) that will consolidate all
of the incremental Backup Volumes that have been created since the
last Network Full Backup. A True incremental network backup is taked
and then the consolidation is completed entirely on the Backup System
with no further interaction required with the Primary Storage on
the target system. The resulting backup volume contains the same
data as one that would have been taken from the target system for
that period of time. The TiBS Small Business Edition takes True
incremental network backups on a daily basis between scheduled Network
Full Backups to produce this volume.
True Incremental Backup: A special type of Direct or Network Partial Cumulative Incremental Backup. A True incremental backup will only backup the files that have been modified or created since the most recent backup from the client. Note: The last client backup could be at any level.
