The True incremental Backup System® (TiBS) integrated Disk Library Interface (DLI) is now available for all versions. The DLI can be configured to store any backup volume on disk in addition to or instead of on tape. Keep True incremental and Full Backups in near line storage for fast backup and restore.
The DLI also has the ability to store multiple-level synthetic cumulative or partial cumulative incremental backups such as weekly or monthly backup consolidations on disk, a unique feature with TiBS. Create new synthetic backup consolidations more quickly than can be done from tape!
The DLI option allows for faster restore times for mission critical data by reducing or eliminating tape load time and seek times. Restore individual files fast. TiBS checksum analysis detects corrupted disk backups and repair options further protect restore integrity.
True incremental Backups provide shorter network backup windows allowing more data to be supported per backup server. Our unique synthetic partial cumulative incremental backups reduce data redundancy and improve backup and recovery performance. Use of the DLI can reduce wear and tear on expensive tape drives while increasing the effective storage capacity of your tape libraries. Different data retention policies are available for disk and tape.
The DLI can function as a stand alone Disk-to-Disk (D2D) solution. However, the DLI is intended to work with the Automated Tape Library Interface (ATLI) as an enhanced Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape (D2D2T) solution. This approach will provide the benefits of both storage technologies, while mitigating the problems and risks associated with using either one alone. |
